As Vice President – Corporate Strategy for Verizon Communications, Caroline Galand Ward is responsible for leading the company’s overall corporate strategy development process, including the analysis of competitors and industry trends and, working with the business units, the identification and evaluation of strategic opportunities.  She also serves as the senior administrative officer of the Strategy, Development & Planning department.

Ms. Ward was Vice President – Corporate Strategy for GTE Service Corporation from 1998 until the merger with Bell Atlantic in June 2000.  She joined GTE in 1995 as Director – Corporate Strategy.

From 1986 until 1995, Ms. Ward was a consultant with Monitor Company, a strategy consulting firm serving Fortune 100 companies and their international equivalents.

Ms. Ward earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Wellesley College and a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
