Tim has worked in the technology industry for more than 27 years. He was a managing director (partner) for 13 of his 22-plus year tenure in Accenture’s management consulting practice. At Accenture, Tim worked with some of the world’s largest tech companies, advising clients on growth and operational strategies and leading Accenture’s software industry sector. Towards the end of his tenure, he focused on Silicon Valley clients and developed go-to-market strategies with major enterprise technology partners. He also led Accenture’s development programs for strategy consulting partners/managing directors, personally training more than ninety senior colleagues.
As global software industry lead, Tim grew market awareness of the software practice and helped expand the client footprint. He created new Accenture offerings and assets and directed training for personnel serving software clients. Tim was the go-to subject matter expert in strategic sales initiatives and investigated new alliance opportunities with software vendors.
Tim has written several points of view on cloud business models, operating models and operational capabilities relevant in the shift toward “anything-as-a-service.” With this focus, he most recently led sales and client services for a big data consulting and engineering services startup.
Tim is a Stanford MBA graduate and holds BS (Highest Honors) and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from UC Davis. Tim tweets @timjellison. He lives in San Francisco.
