Dr Steinbock consults on issues of international business and international relations among the most advanced economies (U.S., Western Europe, Japan) and the large emerging economies (China, India, Russia, Brazil). He focuses on international relations, global competitiveness and innovation of nation, governments, cities and firms. He is also an expert on the global mobile communications industry and Finnish competitiveness and innovation.
He divides his time between New York City, Shanghai / Guangzhou and Helsinki, Finland.
Dr. Steinbock is Research Director of International Business at the India, China and America Institute (ICA). His contributions have been published by The National Interest and American Foreign Policy Interest, leading US foreign policy journals, as well as China & World Economy, China’s leading economic journal and International Review by Shanghai’s leading think-tank, Strategic Innovators, a leading Indian innovation journal by IIPM. A senior Fulbright scholar, he is an affiliate of the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness (Prof M.E. Porter, Harvard Business School); Faculty Spokesman for the Forum to Advance Mobile Experience (FAME), an initiative by the CMO Council, representing 2,000 leading technology firms; and an affiliate of the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information (CITI).
