The Software Economics Council (SECO) is an independent organization that serves as a forum for constituents to learn from and contribute to better enterprise software economics, development and performance. The SECO’s charter is guided by a leadership committee of executives from companies such as Adobe Systems, Aztec Software, Azul Systems, BEA Systems, Borland Software, BroadVision, Cognizant, Deloitte, Dendrite International, EDS, IBM, Informatica, Leverage Software, Mercury, Novell, Oracle, Salesforce.com, Santéon, SAP, Siebel Systems and Sybase.
The BPM Forum, whose membership includes senior level executives in finance, planning, IT and operations in a cross section of industries, formed SECO with a founding sponsorship from Aztec Software, a leader in software product engineering. SECO will:
- Identify and categorize challenges, concerns, characteristics, consistencies and commonalities in the software development lifecycle
- Formulate and articulate opinions, research and recommendations around the availability, quality, and criticality of using, managing, maintaining and supporting software across the organization
- Develop and disseminate white papers, opinion pieces, media alerts, etc. based on the outcomes of SECO membership interactions and provide commentary as circumstances and events warrant
- Host or participate in online envents to present SECO findings
- Host or participate in industry and media roundtables-in locations such as Boston, New York and Silicon Valley-to enable direct discussions on local and current trends, topics, developments, and threats with appropriate media exposure
- Produce or participate in on-demand webcasts to share relevant emerging issues
